News from the trenches
The Universal Widget API, and its accompanying Developer Network, has been launched a while ago now. While it may seem like so, we haven’t really been resting on our laurels since then: between documentation updating and question answering, we have also been tweaking on several levels the core of UWA, which tends to be faster and leaner as time goes by. Bug fixes, optimizations and new functionalities abound.
We also have a few goodies up our sleeves, as announced in our initial roadmap (which could use a good update, indeed). In the coming days, we are going the release some anticipated features from UWA developers and widget users:
- BlogWidget: for those who wanted to use UWA widgets on their own site/blog.
- authentication methods: build widgets able to access and update private date through proper authentication.
After those two, you can expect…
- Opera Widget support: this one is still in the oven at the moment, but if you feel the available environments (Netvibes, Google IG, Dashboard) were too few, here goes another one, for users of the Opera browser.
Stay tuned for more in the coming weeks!
