Uploading your UWA widget on other widget directories
Having the ability to get your widget to work on many platforms is one excellent thing, of which we are very proud, but we are also aware of the fact that most users of a given platform look for widgets on that platform’s central widget repository/directory.
Even if Ecosystem is the best place to submit UWA widgets, you can also reach your audience thanks to other repositories! Indeed, since Ecosystem lets you compile and download/install your widget in a format readily usable in other platforms, you can and should download your widget in the supported formats, and spread it on the various platforms. This, however, would have to be done by hand by yourself, but the good thing is that your widget would then be promoted on every platforms, to every users.
UWA widgets are already being seen in various repository, and one of the most famous and recent example is the superb CBS News widget, which was developed as a Premium Widget, being the #1 featured widget on the homepage of Microsoft’s Live and Vista galleries.
