Welcome to the UWA Developers site, where you will learn how to easily build portable widgets using the Universal Widget API, how to work with Netvibes data using the REST API and the Eco API, and how to build an advanced Netvibes theme using the Theme format.
A widget is a small application running on a platform, allowing its users to access external content on their personal page.
The Universal Widget API offers a powerful framework for Web widgets development - not only for Netvibes widgets, but also for many other environments. With UWA, you only need one API to build widgets for a host of platforms: Netvibes, iGoogle, Vista, Apple Dashboard, Live.com, Opera, etc.
Netvibes opens its data through publicly available APIs. There are two Netvibes APIs for now:
- REST API: retrieve information from a Netvibes account, such as tabs, widgets, timeline, etc.
- Ecosystem API: send search requests to the Ecosystem.
